God’s House Tower
‘a space’ arts is currently working on an ambitious project to refurbish and reopen Southampton’s 700 year old God’s House Tower into a new Arts and Heritage venue following a £1.6 million grant from HLF.
As part of the Southampton Fringe in 2016 the building reopened to the public for a week with and hosted a range of cultural events. This included 700 women, a project by artist Sarah Filmer to bring 700 women through the building to help address the gender imbalance in the written history of the space.
The event was a huge success and generated considerable press attention with the Daily Echo, BBC and The Guardian. Below photos are by Greg Moss, who was brought in to provide high quality press standard photography for the Guardian article.
