Visual Arts South West and Journeys Festival International Portsmouth

As part of Visual Arts South West’s coverage of Journeys Festival International in Portsmouth I was asked to review the festival and undertake an instagram takeover.

Journeys Festival is organised by Artreach and takes place annually in Manchester, Leicester, and Portsmouth. The week long festival celebrates the creative talent of exceptional refugee and asylum seeker artists and shares the refugee experience through great art.

a-n Southampton Scene Report

As part of an ongoing series of articles profiling the visual arts scenes in different UK cities I was invited to write a Scene Report on Southampton for the a-n website.

The article highlights many of the exciting visual arts activities in the city, and includes a number of my own photographs as well as those that I’ve collated from several organisations.

This Scene Report acts as a way into the often under recognised contemporary visual art of the city and signposts to to Southampton’s large established galleries as well the smaller artist led initiatives and more spontaneous activity.

a-n is the largest artists’ membership organisation in the UK with over 22,000 members and is a leading visual arts news outlet.
